Reminder: Weekend Northbound I-405 Closure Slated to Start at 11 p.m.

The Washington State Department of Transportation plans to close northbound Interstate 405 tonight through Monday morning to reconnect the ramps on I-405 and SR-520. The closure could be canceled if rain is forecast for the weekend

The Washington State Department of Transportation plans to close northbound Interstate 405 at 11 p.m. tonight (Sept. 30) through 4 a.m. Monday morning to reconnect the ramps on I 405 and State Route 520.

The closure was postponed last week after rain forecast for last weekend and the same could happen this weekend if rain is forecast.

Southbound I-405 will be open to traffic all weekend.

When crews reopen the road Monday morning, drivers headed to Redmond, Seattle and Kirkland will use new ramps to get to I-405 and SR 520.

Drivers headed to SR 520 from downtown Bellevue should take Northeast Tenth Street, instead of Northeast Eighth Street. The new Northeast Eighth Street onramp will lead to northbound I-405.

Closure information

• Northbound I-405 will close from NE Eighth Street to SR 520 from 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, to 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3. 
• Several northbound ramps in Bellevue will close and signed detours will be in place.
• Southbound I-405 will be open to traffic all weekend.
• Bellevue is open for business during the northbound freeway closure. Northbound exit ramps will be open as far north as NE Eighth Street.
