Smith Expands Lead in Latest Tally as Ballots Flood in

As incumbent U.S. 9th District Congressman Adam Smith (D-Bellevue) slowly expands his primary election lead, King County elections said it received over 150,000 ballots in the mail today.

Incumbent U.S. 9th District Congressman Adam Smith (D-Bellevue) slowly expanded his primary election lead, latest vote tallies from the Secretary of State's office show.

Smith expanded his lead over his nearest challenger, Republican Jim Postma, to 28,315, or approximately 28 pecentage points according to the latest numbers released at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Meanwhile, King County Elections has received a total of about 435,000 ballots to date and has tallied just over half β€” 262,000. Of those, more than 64,000 were returned to ballot drop boxes.Β
