Allied Waste Resumes Limited Service Tuesday

Allied Waste, which provides garbage and recycling services to Mercer Island and other neighboring Eastside communities, has resumed residential service Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Allied Waste/Republic Services resumed limited residential service on Mercer Island Tuesday morning, according to a press release.

Services are running on schedule, but limited to flat terrain due to snow and ice conditions. Hilly streets and areas with significant ice will prevent collection.

Local areas with limited service today Bellevue, Mercer Island, Sammamish, Issaquah, Kenmore, and unincorporated areas of North King County.

Residents who are missed due to the inclement weather may put up to a double load out on their regular collection day next week.

"We will continue to provide updates today and throughout the week to notify you of any changes due to inclement weather," said Allied Waste spokesperson Anne Laughlin.
