Storm Update: Council Meeting Still On; WSDOT Reports on Effects of 520 Tolling on I-90

City Council will meet at 6 p.m. for a study session and begin its regular council meeting at 7 p.m. in City Hall council chambers.

Transportation topics will be on the city of Mercer Island's agenda Tuesday night at its council meeting and study session in .

Despite a forecast of and into Wednesday, City Clerk Ali Speitz confirmed at 12:30 p.m. that the study session and regular meeting would be held as scheduled.

At the study session, which starts at 6 p.m., the city council will get an update on new traffic impacts on Interstate 90 since in December.

Volumes on SR 520 were down significantly while I-90 and SR 522 volumes were on par with normal weekday volumes, according to city officials. Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) tolling director Craig Stone will provide an update on the tolling impacts to Mercer Island and the surrounding area.

City Council will begin its regular meeting at 7 p.m. with a recognition of as a local councilman.

Other topics on the agenda include adding an additional $15 per mile charge to the 's , diversifying the city's investment portfolio and placing parking restrictions on paved shoulders of West and East Mercer ways.
