Celebrate Chanukah at Northwest Yeshiva High School This Sunday

Second annual kids' carnival and breakfast happening this weekend.

Mercer Island's will host its second annual Chanukah Kids' Carnival and Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Running from 10 am to 1 pm, the event will feature breakfast, live music by Michael Bilavsky, kids activities like face painting and a bouncy house, vendors selling a variety of wares, and more.

Melissa Rivkin, director of advancement at Northwest Yeshiva High School, said that the event is a great day out for young families with kids.

"It's a lot of fun," Rivkin said.

New this year will be a Chanukah toy drive. In partnership with Friendship Circle, NYHS will be collecting new, unwrapped toys during the event. The toys will later be given to special needs children in the local area.

Tickets are $20 for a family or $7 for an individual. Tickets can be purchased online at the school's web site or at the door on Sunday.

Rivkin said that while the event is popular with alumni and former teachers anyone is welcome to drop by and enjoy the festivites.

"It's a great opportunity for us to welcome the wider community," Rivkin said.
