Taming Transition Times

Join longtime parent educator and early childhood education instructor Vicki Smolke in this timely discussion during the first few days of the new school year.
Any change that is not a child’s idea is often met with resistance. This presentation will focus on strategies to create routines to help families manage transitions in their daily lives and re-establish routines after a change in schedules - such as returning to school. A respectful approach providing predictability, consistency and skills to better respond when abrupt changes require more flexibility will be explored..
