Mercer Island Girls Tennis wins KingCo Tournament
Singles and doubles finals featured Mercer Island athletes on both sides of the net.
Mercer Island High School's girls tennis team won the KingCo 3A Tournament on Friday.
The singles final pitted Mercer Island's Nora Tan against Melanie Lee in an all Island final. Tan won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.
The doubles finals was all Mercer Island as well. Sophia Gage/Lydia Venditti beat Caroline Dillon/Gabby Venditti 7-6, 6-4.
The Mercer Island doubles team of Ashley Larson/Jamie Mounger beat a tough Juanita team to earn 4th place and earn a trip to Districts.
Mercer Island singles player Carissa Ham placed 5th and will serve as the alternate at Districts.
