MIHS Wrestling Defeats Mt. Si, 42-28

The MIHS wrestling team next face Bellevue on Thursday, Jan. 24 at Mercer Island High School.

The Mercer Island High School wrestling team pinned six wrestlers on their way to victory over Mt. Si on Thursday night in a KingCo matchup, 42-28.

In the 106-pound weight class, Hunter Conway (Mt Si) won by forfeit. In the 113-pound weight class, Taylan Yuasa (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Griffin Armour (Mt Si) 4:22. In the 120-pound weight class, Eli Clure (Mt Si) won by forfeit. In the 126-pound weight class, Trevor Gullstad (Mercer Island HS) won by decision over Gunnar Harrison (Mt Si) 4-2. In the 132-pound weight class, Ryley Absher (Mt Si) won by decision over Luke Wilson (Mercer Island HS) 9-8. In the 138-pound weight class, Jacob Pruchno (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Tanner Stahl (Mt Si) 4:58. In the 145-pound weight class, Kenji Walker (Mercer Island HS) won by decision over Tye Rodne (Mt Si) 19-14. In the 152-pound weight class, Connor Gullstad (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Justin Edens (Mt Si) 0:42.

In the 160-pound weight class, Jack Vassau (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Max Kenagy (Mt Si) 4:45. In the 170-pound weight class, Nicholas Chandler (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Cole Palmer (Mt Si) 1:58. In the 182-pound weight class, Timothy Corrie (Mt Si) won in overtime over Daniel Stanke (Mercer Island HS) 9-7. In the 195-pound weight class, Mitch Rorem (Mt Si) won by major decision over Evan Condon (Mercer Island HS) 12-4. In the 220-pound weight class, Nate Whited (Mt Si) won by pin over Andrew Picton (Mercer Island HS) 0:27. In the 285-pound weight class, Benjamin O`Connell (Mercer Island HS) won by pin over Kelly Klupar (Mt Si) 1:16.
