MIHS Wrestling Finishes Fourth in Jack Reynolds Tournament

The MIHS team had eight of its wrestlers place in the top 5 within their division.

Mercer Island High School's wrestling team finished fourth as host to the Jack Reynolds Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 12.

The event drew teams from 15 schools, and Granger High School emerged the winner with 202.5 points. MIHS wrestling placed 4th in the tournament with 137.5 points.

In this very competative event, which included 56 state qualifiers from last year, the MIHS team had eight of its wrestlers place in the top 5 within their division. Taylan Yuasa placed 2nd in the 106 division, Luke Wilson placed 3rd in the 120 division, Jake Pruchno placed 5th in the 126 division, Connor Gullstad placed 3rd in the 152 division, Tanner Ranz placed 5th in the 160 division, Nick Chandler placed 3rd in the 170 division, Danny Stanke placed 3rd in the 182 division and Evan Condon placed 5th in the 195 division.

Also wrestling in the tournament were Trevor Gullstad (1 win) in the 126 division, Scotty Lee (2 wins) in the 132 division, Mike Ong in the 138 division, Nick Richards in the 145 division, Jack Vassau (2 wins) in the 152 division, Chris Richards in the 160 division, Mikalai Hubarevich in the 170 division, and Andy Picton (1 win) in the 195 division.
