According to the Mail Tribune of Medford, Ore., the Ashland superintendent will be offered between $120,000 to $135,000.

Plano, who has headed Mercer Island since 2008, told district employees last month in a letter that he has a home in Ashland, OR, expecting to retire there. But he applied for the Ashland School District job when that district's superintendent Juli Di Chiro announced her own retirement and her job was advertised.
