Skouras Scores Nine to Lead MI Past Overlake in Girls Lacrosse

Skouras, a senior attacker, showed great skill in earning a triple hat-trick at Islander Stadium Monday night.

Elena Skouras scored nine goals to lead to a 21 – 9 season-opening girls varsity high school lacrosse win over the Overlake School, Monday at Mercer Island High School. The triple hat-trick was a career-high performance for the Islander senior.

The Islanders scored 10 goals in the first to take a 10-4 lead into halftime. In the fourth, MI poured on another 11 goals.

Other top scoring Islanders include Dulc Moll and Tyler Sherper each with three goals. Overlake’s Zoe Pinczower also netted three goals.

Mercer Island (1-0-0) next faces Bellevue East (0-0-0) last year’s Division II state champion, Wednesday, March 14 at Robinswood Park. Overlake (0 -1 -0)  next faces Mukilteo (0-0 -0), Wednesday, March 14 at Kamiak High School.
