Are you planning to take any photos at Mercer Island High School's homecoming parade and game on Friday, Oct. 19, and homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 20?

The Homecoming festivities kick off on Friday, Oct. 19 with the parade at 5:30 p.m. and the homecoming football game starts at 7 p.m. against Mt. Si.

Late last month, we caught up with Mercer Island High senior Brage Skahjem, a 17-year-old exchange student from Oslo, Norway, who is well prepared for his first American high school dance by asking out Bellevue High Junior Aran Kirschenmann, 16, to the Oct. 20 MIHS Homecoming dance.

The pair met each other several weeks ago at the Starbucks in Bellevue Square, and this will be the first time either of them has been to a Homecoming dance.
