Islanders Upended by Bellevue, 51-50 After Comeback Falls Short

Islanders boys basketball suffered their first 3A KingCo loss this season by a single point to the Bellevue Wolverines Friday night in Bellevue.

The Islanders (10-1, 15-2) were down 6 with just over a minute remaining but they cut the lead to 1 and called timeout with 24 seconds remaining. After two intentional non-shooting fouls, MI inbounded the ball with 12 seconds to play but were not able to get a good shot attempt, though Jake Shaddle had a chance to win it with a deep three that caught the side of the rim as the horn to end the game sounded.

Kaleb Warner ended with 15, Nick Nordale with 14 and Joe Rasmussen with 11, for the Islanders. Michael Carlson scored 12 and Timmy Haehl added 11 for the Wolverines.
