Lindquist Nominated for U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Mercer Island High School quarterback Jeff Lindquist has been nominated for the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Mercer Island High School quarterback Jeff Lindquist has been nominated to participate in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Lindquist, one of the top QB prospects on the West Coast, will join 400 players in the quest to be one of the 90 selected to play in the actual All-American game. Spots will be whittled down during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour, which begins in September and concludes in December.

"This nomination recognizes the mental, emotional, and physical strengths and leadership qualities Lindquist has developed on and off the field; qualities he shares with Army Strong Soldiers," Col. Derick Crotts, Director of Strategic Communications, Marketing and Outreach, U.S. Army Accessions Command said in a press release.

Lindquist has yet to make his decision on where he will attend college, but Stanford and Washington are rumored to be the front-runners. The junior finished the 2010 season with back-to-back seven touchdown performances in leading the Islanders to their best record in five years.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl will take place Saturday, January 7, 2012.
