Mahony Leads Mercer Island Lacrosse in 'Island War' Blitzkrieg over Bainbridge 18 – 3

Dough Mahony delivered 6 goals for Mercer Island in a dominating performance over one of the state's best lacrosse programs.

Dough Mahony delivered 6 goals as outscored Bainbridge 10–0 in the first quarter and never looked back, as they powered to an 18–3 boys high school lacrosse win over Bainbridge, Saturday at 's .

The Islanders established themselves early winning face-offs and closing down the Spartans attack with its pestering defense. After taking a 14–3 lead into the half, the Islanders netted 2 goals in each of the third and fourth quarters to shut out the Spartans in the second half and cruise to the win.

Matt Shields netted 4 goals and 4 assits and Brian Bernstein had 8 saves for the Islanders. For Bainbridge, Cameron Parker, Kegan Ingrasci and Jacob Knostman all scored.

Mercer Island (16-2-0) next faces Lake Washington (8-6-0), Tuesday, May 10 in an 8 p.m. start at Mercer Island High School. Bainbridge (12-2-0) next faces Tacoma (11-2-0), Monday, May 9 in a 7:30 p.m. start at Bainbridge High School.
