Mercer Island girls basketball hit three at the buzzer, but it wasn't enough to overcome Wilson High School's lead in the 3A state tournament quarterfinals.

The final score Thursday morning in the Tacoma Dome was 48-37, according to The News Tribune and the Mercer Island High School girls basketball team Facebook page.

The team reported that Kris Brackmann scored three points at the final buzzer, but -- while tying the game at one point -- Mercer Island could not overcome the lead that Tacoma's Wilson High School had held since the first quarter:
