Mercer Island U15 Select Boys win Washington State Fall League

Mercer Island's U15 select squad is the first team from the Island to win their division in youth soccer's Washington State League.

The (MI United) won the Washington State Fall League by seven points in season play.

The team was undefeated, winning 13 games and drawing 1. The league is made up of top regional select teams including Issaquah Red, Crossfire, Cascade Impact , RV Slammers, Legacy and Mount Rainier, as well as Premier teams Wenatchee Fire and Spokane Shadow.

This is the first time that a Mercer Island Select club team has won the league and follows on from the team’s success in reaching the semi-final of the 2010 Challenge Cup in which they narrowly lost to the eventual winners from Eastside FC. MIFC United’s success was based on a stingy defense, which conceded only nine goals, and a rampant attack that scored 43 goals by 12 different players.
