Lee was a boy's lacrosse assistant coach for the past three seasons and was part of the Islanders’ 2011 coaching staff that lifted the Washington state lacrosse championship.

The Sammamish high school lacrosse program — which draws students from Sammamish, Newport and Interlake High Schools in the Bellevue School District — announced today that Ian Lee has been named boys head lacrosse coach.

A former NCAA Division III lacrosse player with prep roots in Washington state, Lee spent the past four seasons coaching at the collegiate and high school levels before being tapped for the Sammamish job.

Mercer Island Boy's Lacrosse posted a 15-7 record in 2012 and reached the .

Lee is a 2004 graduate of Bothell High School. He played prep lacrosse for the Eastside Lacrosse Club, which has since grown into seven separate high school teams in the Bellevue area, before going on as a three-year collegiate starter at Messiah (2004-08).

In addition to his role as head boys high school coach, Lee will also serve as program director for the Sammamish club’s youth, middle and high school lacrosse teams.

At Sammamish, Lee replaces Tyler Farrar, who in the past two seasons compiled a 27-9-0 Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association record, finishing seventh in the Division I Northeast Conference in 2012 and runner-up in the Division II state championship game in 2011.

I'll be a bit more direct than Jerry. The new site is a mess. Visually it's extremely cluttered.Read More It's slow, very slow. There appear to be no RSS feeds, a major negative. Following a few links sometimes sends you to a different community's Patch site. And what happened with the editing staff. Unless I missed something, suddenly there are new editors without any warning. No matter what the circumstances, normally such a move would be accompanied by an announcement of some sort. Venice may be the greatest editor ever, but it looks like she is splitting her time among several Patch sites, so the odds are stacked against her. Her "latest activities" list even suggests that she is editing a Patch site down in the San Francisco Bay area. With all due respect, Patch sites should be hyper-local, and the best route to that is a local (i.e. Mercer Islander) editor.
