Northwest Yeshiva Senior Places 2nd in Golf Tournament

Northwest Yeshiva High School senior Elie Aboulafia won 2nd place in the state high school golf tournament

Northwest Yeshiva High School senior Elie Aboulafia concluded his season and NYHS career on Wednesday at the 1B/2B State Golf Championship at Meadow Park golf Course in Tacoma.  His 2nd place finish was tops among the many SeaTac representatives in this years' State Tourney that also included senior Ben Spear.

The first day of the tournament included clear skies and good scoring, but contrasted to the final day where the players endured rainy conditions.  “From a coaching perspective, the "Elie Era" has a bittersweet ending.” Said Drew Artiaga, NYHS golf head coach. “Although there have been NYHS players in the past who have reached the State Tourney, Elie's influence on the NYHS golf program and the league is far reaching.”

Aboulafia qualified for State four years in row, with two top 10 finishes, has two top 10 finishes at district tournaments, has placed 2nd in the SeaTac League Championship twice, has been awarded All SeaTac League each year and has helped the NYHS golf team win the SeaTac Sportsmanship Award in 2009 and 2011. NYHS sophomore Caleb Angel reached the District Tourney this year as well.
