The Mercer Island Islanders will host their final regular-season game tonight as they host the Lake Washington Kangaroos. The Islanders will look to beat the Kangaroos for the second time in as many weeks after in Kirkland last Monday.
Lake Washington (12-7, 8-5) is led by their junior point guard Matt Staudacher who is averaging 17.5 points per game. The Kangaroos will be without their standout in Darien Nelson-Henry who was ruled out for the season just prior to Mercer Islandβs previous matchup with Lake Washington due to an ankle injury.
The Islanders (15-4, 10-3) are coming off a 65-32 blowout win over the Interlake Saints on Tuesday night and got a boost with the return of senior captain Quinn Sterling. Sterling had been sidelined since the fourth game of the year with a leg injury but returned with a strong performance on Tuesday.
