Week Ahead: Shoreline Erosion Meeting, Artist Reception, Russian Chamber Music Concert

Tuesday, Sept. 10

The Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a public meeting to discuss conceptual designs for the upcoming Luther Burbank Park and Calkins Landing shoreline restoration projects.  The public meeting will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Room 104 at the Mercer Island Community Center, 8236 SE 24th Street, Mercer Island.  The community is encouraged to provide input on the design of three shoreline areas for improved access, wildlife habitat quality and site aesthetics.

Thursday, Sept. 12

MIVAL Gallery, located at 2836 78th Ave SE, will be featuring,
September: "Return to the Island". Gallery members showcase their talents in many mediums,  including jewelry,oil,watercolor, fiber, and photography. Often you will see themes from the past summer, vacations, family visits represented in paintings, cards, collages and many more ways. Opening Night reception Sept. 12, 5-8pm. Show Sept. 5 - 29, 2013.

Friday, Sept. 13

The Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle is pleased to feature the artistry of Vera Panitch, violinist, Jens Elfving, violinist, and Mercer Island resident Natalya Ageyeva, pianist, in a concert of Russian classical works at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church.  The richly varied program features beloved favorites for solo violin, two violins, and violin and piano.
