Mercer Island Municpal Court

<p>The Mercer Island Municipal Court hears cases concerning non-criminal traffic, boating or parking infractions and misdemeanor crimes which occur within the city's jurisdiction. Established in 2004 and administered by presiding Municipal Court Judge Wayne Stewart, the court typically processes around 3,500 cases a year. Stewart was reconfirmed by city council vote to a four-year term, beginning on Jan. 1, 2010.</p> <p>The court is also under contract to provide services to the neighboring city of Newcastle.</p>
