The 90-year-old died last week after he was struck by a passing car.
A memorial service for Larry Lunden, the longtime Mercer Island resident who died Dec. 23 after he was struck by a moving car the previous day, will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. Lunden, 90, was crossing Island Crest Way at about 5 p.m. Dec. 22 when he was struck by the side mirror of a passing car. He was treated at the scene and later transported to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. He died the next day at the hospital. According to the Mercer Island Police Department, Lunden had crossed the street at an old, no longer used crosswalk in the 4700 block of Island Crest Way instead of at the new, better-lit crosswalk some 60 feet north. Glenn Coogan, Vice President of Northwest Operations for Ascentia Wine Estates, passed away on Sunday of an apparent heart attack while visiting Westport, Washington. From his Woodinville office he was in charge of operations at Washington’s Columbia Winery and Covey Run as well as Idaho’s Ste. Chapelle Winery. He was 55. Coogan is remembered by colleagues as well as competitors as an advocate for the entire Washington wine industry. “It’s difficult losing Glenn,” said Jim DeBonis, Ascentia Wine Estates CEO. “The team (in the Northwest) has known Glenn a long, long time.
