The Stroum Jewish Community Center is a gathering place for people of all faiths intended…More for learning, exercise.</p> <p>"The J" operates a broad array of services at their campus on East Mercer Way, including the Early Childhood Education child care and preschool, Center Stage performing arts program, cultural celebrations and educational programming with a focus on Judacia, and several competitive and non-competitive sports leagues.</p> <p>Some facility highlights include a 25-yard, four-lane pool, a hot tub and dry sauna, a running track, two studios for exercise classes, a multi-purpose room, basketball and racquetball courts, a fitness center, a new "J-Cafe" espresso bar and free Wi-Fi. The SJCC is also host of the Mercer Island Holocaust Memorial, a tribute to victims who are related to Washington state residents.</p>

Located on the south end of the island, the Mercer Island Country Club offers seven indoor and eight…More outdoor tennis courts, a 25-yard eight lane swimming pool, a complete fitness facility, a group exercise studio, child care, locker rooms with sauna, barbecue and picnic area, a lounge area with kitchen and a card room.</p> <p>MICC sponsors men's, women's and mixed teams to compete in USTA league tennis, women's teams for competitive local cup play and men's team tennis. Year round swim lessons, tennis lessons, junior swim team and junior tennis team are available.</p> <p>Summer youth programs include swim, dive and water polo teams which compete in the Midlakes League, and a junior tennis team which competes in the Junior Eastside Tennis (JET) league. An eight week Summer Kids Camp is popular with weekly themed activities. The fitness department offers many classes, including Cardio Mix, Boot Camp, Yoga and Spinning. Social events occur year round at the MICC - Summer Kick-Off Party, Summer Tennis Tournament, Cookie Decorating Party, Wine & Cheese, Bridge, Knitting Group and Family Fun Nights. Child care is available on premise, Mon - Sat, 9am - 1pm; evenings, 4:30pm - 7:30pm by reservation.</p> <p>The Emerald City Pro Shop (hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat, 8:30am - 4:00pm; Wed, Sun, closed) is located on the second floor of the MICC, and sells tennis equipment, shoes, clothing and offers stringing services.</p>
