The Mercer Island Farmers Market, a non-profit corporation, is dedicated to healthy living, offering fresh locally…More grown produce, organic and sustainable foods, and ready to eat foods. In its commitment to help support local farmers, this producer/grower only market is open seasonally each Sunday from 11am to 3pm at Mercerdale Park.
Full Circle Farms from Carnation (organic fruits and vegetables), Crown S Ranch from Winthrop (grass-fed cattle, pigs, chickens and turkeys), Rockridge Orchards & Cidery of Enumclaw and the Sweet As Can Be Honey Farm from Bellevue are a sampling of vendors who make up this vibrant market.
Each Sunday the market features a different activity--chef demonstrations, cookbook authors or music entertainers. There is always a children's table with some enticing activity, such as Berry Ink or Slug Traps. The market exists with the help of many volunteers and has a zero waste policy--anything consumed is recycled or composted. A pre-Thanksgiving harvest market is scheduled for the Sunday before Thanksgiving - 11/21/2010, 11am - 3pm.
