The Mercer Island Park-and-Ride is the community's primary public transit center with access to downtown Seattle andMore Bellevue in under 15 minutes. There are 447 parking spaces available and free parking is allowed for up to 24 hours. Bike lockers and racks are located nearby as well as one of the few remaining pay phones on Mercer Island.

A neighboring light-rail station placed between the I-90 roadways is planned but no final date for completion has been set.

Ever heard the story how Mercer Island is haunted by evil spirits? Or how Islanders got around before the I-90More Floating Bridge was built? The Mercer Island Historical Society has the records, photos and letters to tell you.

The society is also responsible for over a dozen commemorative plaques on the island at sites of historical significance, such as where four 90mm anti-aircraft guns were stationed on Mercer Island during World War II.

The society meets monthly during the spring and fall (March - May, Sept - Nov) at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center.

The sculptures are installed on the greenspace at 78th Ave SE, over the highway. If your wallet's big enough, the art pieces are also for sale.
Mercer Island Arts Council

The Mercer Island Arts Council (MIAC) is a City Council-appointed board of citizens whose mission is to advise theMore city on investing in local culture and promoting the arts.

The MIAC is composed of 11 voluunteer members, each appointed to four-year terms. The Arts Council supports many high-visibility events and displays, including the I-90 Sculpture Garden, the Community Center Art Gallery and Mostly Music in the Park programming.

The MIAC meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at the Community Center at Mercer View.
