A community sign on the east side of the park (78th Avenue Southeast) announces ongoing community events.

Wildwood Park is a small public park located in a South End neighborhood, directly near the Mercer Island CountryMore Club. The park is one of two public parks designated by the city as an "off-leash area" for dog owners and their pets to enjoy running in the open field. 

There is a small stand of alder and evergreen trees and a trail on the east side of the park.

Upper Luther Bank Park in a sense overlooks Luther Burbank Park.  It abutts a sleepy 84th Ave SE, with housing lotsMore a little bigger and tree-lined.  This park is not on the Mercer Island Parks website and may be a little overlooked.  Although no where near as large as Pioneer Park, it has that feel: several trails with full bodied Northwest trees and overgrowth.  Great for walking the dog.
Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park is located directly to the northwest of Mercerdale Park and was built on land donated by the city andMore school district to commemorate the United States bicentennial. There is a brick plaza and flagpole at the center of the park, which is connected to nearby First Hill by a trail.

A neighboring light-rail station placed between the I-90 roadways is planned but no final date for completion has been set.
