Do your neighbors a favor and recommend what roads to take and what not to take.

It's a Winter Wonderland out there, Mercer Island, and for those unfortunate souls who don't have to drive — it might be a good day to call a friend or relative you've been meaning to or enjoy the snow day with the kids. In other words, it's probably a good idea to just stay off the road with your 2- or 4-wheeled vehicles (I somehow doubt many Islanders own snowmobiles). City Shuts Roads Due to Snow and Ice

Due to the heavy snowfall overnight and continuing this morning, Mercer Island Police have barricaded several roads that are deemed too icy and hazardous to drive on. The following is a list of road closures, as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday: In response to the weather event that is forecasted for today and tomorrow, here are some helpful tips and links that can provide the current status of roads and weather.
