I have lived in Renton nearly my whole life, graduating from Hazen in 1995. Where after I began to write sports and photograph for the Renton Reporter under publisher now Mayor Denis Law. In 1997, I became a full-time photojournalist with additional newspapers in Kent and Auburn. In 1999 I began to volunteer for King County Fire District 20 (Skyway Fire) as the Public Information Officer. Also in 1999, I met my future wife Trina and in 2000 we had our first son Bryson.
Also in 2000 the Reporters became apart of the King County Journal Newspapers, a great step for me as a photojournalist. My beat included Auburn, Kent, Renton, Redmond, Bothell, Kenmore, Bellevue and at times Snoqualmie. With such a wide area, it was often the Eastside Journal or South County Journal would pick-up my breaking news or sports photos.
In 2004, I left the newspaper and returned to Tri-Med Ambulance as a EMT/Dispatcher.
In 2005, Trina and I welcomed our second son Mason. I coach both sons in soccer with Bryson joining Maple Valley Soccer and Mason with Cascade Soccer Club. The boys also do baseball for Cascade Vista Athletic Club. So they keep us both busy.
I am excited in this venture, returning to the Renton media, covering my favorite sports. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you have a sports tip.
