While much of the US will celebrate Summer solstice on Friday, June 21 as the longest day of the year, the timing falls at 1:04 a.m. Eastern Time, according to the National Weather Service β which means areas of the country in the Pacific and Mountain time zones celebrate Summer Solstice on Thursday, June 20 this year.Β
The summer solstice is the time of year when the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun the most and it is also the official first day of summer.
